“The Heart makes the Heaven – China Hui ‘an South School Sculpture Art Exhibition” opened at the National Museum of China until 26th. The exhibition is jointly sponsored by China Arts and Crafts Association, China Arts and Crafts Association and Fujian Province Hui ‘an County people’s Government, China Building Decoration Association, China Ceremonial Leisure Products Industry Association, China Stone Association Stone carving professional Committee, Beijing Architectural Design and Construction Enterprise Association, curated by Mr. Tang Yao, deputy secretary general of China Sculpture Society. 108 pieces of stone carvings, wood carvings and jade carvings from 55 sculptors in Hui ‘an, as well as several large-scale carving projects, are exhibited. These works have been screened by experts, including 39 national, provincial and municipal arts and crafts and stone and wood carving art masters. Hui ‘an is located in southern Fujian, facing Taiwan across the sea. It is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. Since the reform and opening up, under the active support and promotion of Hui ‘an County Party Committee and county government, Hui ‘an traditional carving technology has achieved unprecedented development. Various domestic and international sculpture exchanges and exhibition activities are frequently held, and major domestic art institutes have jointly carried out multi-form cooperation with Hui ‘an sculpture enterprises, which has brought vitality and vitality to the enterprise. Now Hui ‘an county has more than 1000 carving enterprises, more than 100,000 employees, the annual output value of about 15 billion, products are exported to Europe, America, Japan, Southeast Asia and other dozens of countries and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and other regions. In 2003, China Arts and Crafts Association awarded Hui ‘an the title of “China Stone Carving Capital”. In 2015, the UNESCO World Handicraft Council awarded Huian the title of “World Stone Carving Capital”.
At the same time, Huian vigorously develops the master cultural economy, selects master cultural enterprises in the sculpture industry, strengthens the copyright protection of sculpture products, rewards the creation of master studios and art galleries, and promotes the master to teach art. At present, Hui ‘an has 2 masters of Chinese arts and crafts, 6 masters of Chinese stone carving art, 17 masters of arts and crafts in Fujian Province, 48 celebrities of arts and crafts in Fujian Province, more than 30 master cultural enterprises, and a number of unique, rich and breathtaking art galleries such as Dingli Art Museum and Risheng Art Museum. The new generation of Hui ‘an sculpture people are no longer the old-style craftsmen who teach and receive, they break through the traditional style of stylization, strive to transform from technology to art, and embark on the route of high-end, branding and individuation. Hui ‘an sculpture therefore presents infinite possibilities.
